Jasprit Bumrah has had a significant impact on the Mumbai Indians’ gradual turnaround in the IPL this season. After losing their first three games, MI has won their last two. Although both games were high-scoring, Bumrah was the one who stood out. In each of these matches, he was the only bowler from either team to surrender fewer than six runs per over.

Even if you bowl 145, the wicket may need you to bowl slower balls. “You can’t be a one-trick pony and just aim for the stumps and go hunting.”
Bumrah stated that he is now accustomed to that role after picking five wickets despite his four overs being spread out across the innings in different periods. I shouldn’t be a one-trick pony. I should just stop relying on my yorker since there will be days when my execution is off, so I can rely on another delivery. So this was something I worked on early in my career as well. Everyone is doing their study, and data is coming in. People begin to form a line in front of you. So I wanted to have a variety of abilities and it delighted me to employ them.
“Bowling is challenging because you must take a beating and face disappointments to learn. In the past, anytime I had a terrible day or something didn’t work. I would watch the films the next day with a clear head. “What isn’t working, and why?” What’s the way I’ve been playing? So you have to be ahead of the curve because you can’t simply show up on the day and say. ‘Okay, I’ll try this, maybe this will work.’So you are hoping for success.
For me, preparedness is always crucial. When you prepare hard, you put yourself under pressure in the nets and bowl to hitters capable of hitting massive sixes. You bow to them, demonstrating how you react to stress and pressure. Then you start looking for solutions, which is crucial for me to keep pushing myself in training. Then on game day, you can say, “Okay, when I was under similar pressure in training, I had answers.”
