England removed Rohit  after they finish with 353

After being bowled out for 353 in the first innings, England were able to remove the dangerous Rohit Sharma before the lunch break. Ollie Robinson helped the visitors get off to a great start in the morning session by hitting his first Test fifty. But Ravindra Jadeja cleaned up the tail to bowl the opposition out for 353.

Robinson assisted Mohammed Siraj’s first ball of the day. It was a bad one that went down the leg side and reached the boundary. The hosts chose the fresh ball after two balls, but it didn’t work out as planned. Early in an over, Robinson sliced Akash Deep for a boundary. Then signaled his intentions with two more fours to end the over. After that, he swept Ravindra Jadeja for his fifth boundary of the day to reach a well-deserved fifty as the overnight combination frustrated India by amassing over 100 runs.

Observing the proceedings from the non-striker’s perspective, Joe Root eventually secured his first boundary of the day. Under pressure, India desperately needed to end the alliance to prevent England from finishing below 400. As Robinson attempted a reverse sweep and gloved one to the keeper, Jadeja handed the home team the much-needed lead. Although Robinson was certain he wouldn’t strike it at all. The replays showed a slight tickle, thus his challenge was in vain.

Shoaib Bashir made a stunning hit on the second delivery of the same over when he chose to slog the left-arm spinner. He misjudged it and took a second-ball duck for granted. The loss of those two wickets rocked England, and Jadeja struck again for the third time that morning to trap James Anderson leg-before-wicket, despite Root’s best efforts to farm the strike. Considering that they were at 112/5 at one point during the innings, England would have been happy with their final score nonetheless. Additionally, they were able to get off to a fast start when Anderson forced the edge off Rohit’s bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal appeared menacing once more. So the visitors will need to get rid of him as soon as play resumes.
