On Day 2, spinners gave England the upper hand.

On the second day of the fourth Test England’s spinner took  six wickets to put India in difficulty. Despite Yashasvi Jaiswal’s best efforts on the other end, England continued to strike after bowled out for 353 in their opening innings Kuldeep yadav is best spinner in india.

Ollie Robinson opened the day well for England,  Joe Root, he ended up stretching the stand over 100 runs, with the latter taking a backseat on the second morning. In the process, Robinson ended up scoring his first-ever fifty in Test cricket. As Robinson attempted a reverse sweep, he gloved one to the ‘keeper,’ but Ravindra Jadeja provided that breakthrough.

Even yet, considering that at one point on the first day they were reeling at 112/5, England would have been rather happy with their score of 353. With the ball, too, they were given a huge lift when Rohit Sharma managed to nip Anderson behind very early in his innings.

Jaiswal again strong start

Conversely, Jaiswal once again got off to a strong start. The opener was in excellent form heading into the lunch break, and crushed two double tons in the series.  He ultimately found himself seeing a procession from the side of the non-striker. In the second session, Bashir severely damaged India’s chances of winning. He first trapped the well-positioned Shubman Gill leg before wicket, and then he removed Jadeja and Rajat Patidar, who had hit consecutive sixes before that.

Kuldeep yadav Stumps Out

India was now facing an uphill battle to salvage the innings after those three wickets. Although the opener kept making runs, England was able to silence Sarfaraz Khan on the other end. After Jaiswal pulled one back onto his stumps to fall for 73, the visitors regained complete control of the game. India needed a huge contribution from the lower order, as they were about 200 runs behind England’s total and half the side was back in the pavilion. But England took advantage of their advantage when Hartley trapped R Ashwin leg before wicket after drawing the outside edge of Sarfaraz. Before stumps, Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel batted out over eighteen overs in a valiant effort.
