Muhammad Amir coming back to T20 World Cup

Muhammad Amir announced on Sunday that he will play in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. He will roll back his retirement. Amir’s statement coincides with the PCB’s disclosing of their new selection committee which has four retired test cricket players.

“Playing for Pakistan is still my dream,” Amir declared on X (formerly Twitter). “Life forces us to reevaluate the choices we’ve made.
I have had some constructive conversations with the PCB.  They have politely conveyed to me that I am still valuable and capable of representing Pakistan. I have informed my family and well-wishers that I am willing to be considered for the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup.”

“I want to put my country’s needs ahead of my desires by doing this. My main ambition has always been and will always be to serve my country while wearing the green jersey.”

Amir, who became a global sensation at the age of seventeen, has played in fifty Twenty20 Internationals since his debut in 2009. He claimed 59 wickets at a remarkable economy rate of 7.02 during those appearances.
In the PSL this year, he made his most recent appearances in Twenty20 cricket, taking ten wickets in nine matches for the Quetta Gladiators.
