Quetta Gladiators Defeated Lahore

At the Gadaffi Stadium on Monday, the Quetta Gladiators made it two in two in the PSL 2024, defeating Lahore Qalandars by five wickets behind Khawaja Nafey’s brisk unbeaten half-century and Akeal Hosein’s economical bowling. With five balls remaining and an equal number of wickets in hand, the visitors successfully achieved the 188-run mark in Psl 9.

Gladiators got off to a steady start, chasing a hard objective. But Haris Rauf, who was bowling the second over, misplayed his lines and hit three wide deliveries, giving the visitors the advantage in the hunt for runs. Using the other length faults as cover, Saud Shakeel and Jason Roy were able to establish simple boundaries and quickly build a lead during the powerplay. In the third over, Shakeel even went after Shaheen Afridi, scooping him over fine leg for a six. After two overs, Roy on 20 was out of luck as Zaman Khan ruined his chance to dismiss him. In 41 balls, the pair scored 69 runs, 61 of which came during the powerplay.

Zaman Khan Halt The Momentum:

To halt the momentum, Zaman Khan and Sikandar Raza dismissed the openers in the span of four deliveries. After having already lapped Raza for a boundary, Rilee Rossouw struck a few of boundaries off Salman Fayyaz to get going, but he struggled for the rest of his stay. Raza was mostly restrained, but when Haris Rauf came back for his second spell, Rayaf struck him cleanly for two sixes in a 16-run over. Although he did fire Rossouw, he once more relaxed the pressure on the necessary pace.

Zaman Khan extended Qalandars in what ought to have been a simpler pursuit, but opposition backing was scant. In the eighteenth over, Rafay reached his first PSL half-century with a drive that went beyond the mid-off fielder for a boundary. Without any late twists, he saw his side through to the end, undefeated on 60.

Hosein start very impressive psl 9:

Hosein made an incredible start with the ball earlier in the day after Qalandars decided to bat, putting Fakhar Zaman through a lot of problems. He gave Mohammad Wasim Jr. a simple opportunity to cut the second ball, but he put him down. However, the left-armer kept the southpaw under pressure and, eventually, in the third over, the batsman miscuted an attempt to go over the top and was caught at mid on. The southpaw was unable to make apologies.

Hosein did not give up easy runs during the powerplay, as Lahore Qalandars could only muster 23 runs at the conclusion of four overs.

After the powerplay,

Abrar Ahmad deceived Rassie van der Dussen into bowling between his bat and pad, and the Gladiators struck again shortly after. Shortly following a fifty-year disagreement between van der Dussen and Sahibzada . But the former had been the one taking the initiative, greeting Wasim Jr. with two boundaries in the fifth over and smashing Abrar for a six and another boundary in the seventh.

Farhan rode his luck as well, but this time Wasim Jr. was the victim of misfortune as Hasnain dropped the batter’s top edge at third man. Batting at 44, Farhan eventually fell off Hasnain, but not before hitting back-to-back sixes.

Hosein came back to bat and bowled two more economical overs before ending his spell with figures of 2-17, and Qalandars continued to lose wickets as they attempted to accelerate. Jahandad Khan was the lone hitter to find success in the last overs. He scorched to an undefeated 17-ball 45, hitting three sixes and four boundaries

the team in reaching 187 for 7, which ultimately proved insufficient in psl 9
