CA contracts 2024–2025: Stoinis is not included, but four new additions

Cricket Australia awarded four new players core contracts. However, they did not include Marcus Stoinis, an experienced all-rounder. Joining Xavier Bartlett are Nathan Ellis, Matt Short, and Aaron Hardie. Bartlett has only played three games for Australia, all in 2024.

Bartlett is the only new player on the roster. But the other three players have all but locked up their berths. Despite not receiving a contract right away, they were upgraded during the season after representing Australia in ODIs and T20Is.
.

David Warner does not cut. He plans to stop his international career after this year’s T20 World Cup as the contract expires after the main event. Although he is allowed to participate in the T20 World Cup this year. Stonis, who lost his place in the ODI team during the World Cup last year has not yet received a contract. Marcus Harris, Michael Neser, and Ashton Agar are the other players not included on last year’s ranking.

Other than T20 specialist Tim David, Matt Renshaw has not cut. He has been recently included in the teams as the backup hitter following Warner’s retirement from Test cricket. Nevertheless, Jhye Richardson has held onto his berth despite not playing for Australia since June 2022 due to an exasperating period of injury-related absences.

2024–25 CA contracted players: Nathan Lyon Mitchell Marsh Glenn Maxwel Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson Matt Short Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc Adam Zampa Marnus Labuschagne Alex Carey Pat Cummins, Todd Murphy, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja
